2 month old

So our little buddy is now 2.5 months old! I can't believe how fast time has flown this time around. He is such a social little thing now. He loves to coo at anyone who talks to him and gives the biggest smiles that are the best thing in the world.

He loves to lay in the middle of the floor and kick like crazy. The other day he was doing just that and I heard Livvy talking to him. I ran in to find her practically sitting on him...yikes. So he only lays on the floor when he has a body guard present.

Even though little miss loves on him a little rough, he always looks at her when she's running by or talking to him and gives her big smiles. I can't wait for them to play together when they're older! I'm sure they'll be best buds.

Jude is a good day sleeper usually and takes three pretty long naps throughout the day which is nice, but he is still not sleeping more than 3-4 hours at a time during the night, which makes me continually feel like a zombie. Hopefully we'll get to longer stretches soon! He is sleeping in his bassinet all bundled up in a tight swaddle which seems to help him. Any other suggestions at how to get him to sleep longer at night?

Lincoln's 29th Birthday

Was spent in the hospital, getting his appendix out. He actually wasn't that upset about it...after the pain went away. He would be missing the busiest week of work.

I took the kids to see him the next day and Livvy seemed to like the hospital too. The whole next week she said her belly hurt and she needed to go to the hospital to watch Dora.

Lincoln stayed home and worked last week and has almost completely recovered.

Let's just review the past 4 weeks or so...
Eye infections
Livvy's mouth sores/fever
Mastitis
Appendicitis

Hopefully we're done with this plague. I think we've had enough sickness for a while.

Livvy Moments

Livvy's favorite words right now are "but" and "actually". She frequently starts her sentences "But I am going to play with my baby." "Actually I am eating."

She LOVES to pretend play. She will bring me (or anyone within sight) a stuffed animal and say "Tell the bear!" (meaning be the bear and talk to me).

She also loves to sing and will climb up on the piano bench and say "You ready for me to sing?", then she will flip through the Primary song book and make up songs about "Jesus playing with the kids" or whatever the picture is on the page.

She is also starting to be a little sneaky. The other day I was nursing Jude and heard her playing in her room. Then I didn't hear anything. I came out and found her sitting in the kitchen picking out MnMs from the Trail Mix bag. When I asked her how many she ate she said "Two." I have a feeling it was quite a few more.

ABC School!

We had our official first day of "A Letter a Week" school! Livvy was so excited to "go" to school (even though it was at our house). We had a ton of fun with all 6 -2 year-olds, 1- 15 month old and 1 -2 month old. The kids did surprisingly well and loved learning all about the letter A and alligators. Livvy loved every minute and after everyone left she kept asking where the "kids" went!

Annoyed

That my neighbors have decided to put a living room in the courtyard outside our front door. Complete with lawn chairs, cigarette butts and a shopping cart. Oh yeah and don't forget the 4-5 homeless-looking middle aged men that grace this lovely space all day long.

I love Concord.

Don't worry though, we signed a formal complaint and our HOA is sending it along with fines to the homeowners. If they don't kick the renters out....then I might turn momma lion on them and do it myself. Don't mess with my kids' clean breathing air mmmk? Mmmk.

Also, I have a drawer in my kitchen that I can no longer get into because a measuring cup popped up and has jammed it shut. Three people have tried to un-jam it to no avail. Hopefully we can figure that one out...cause I kind of need my mixing spoons people.

On a brighter note, Lincoln came home early to help me get Jude's passport. Why would a two month old need a passport you ask? Welp, stay tuned.
