Patience.

The baby countdown is going up as I continue to carry this baby. 4 days over D-day and counting. I always thought I would have this baby early (my mom only made it to her due date once), but my little girl seems to enjoy making us wait.

Everyone thought she would be here by now and with the days passing Dallin has left for training (he'll be back in 3 weeks) and my parents are going to my cousin's wedding tomorrow and are gone until Sunday. So both me and my mom are kind of hoping she waits until they get back. In any case Veronica is on alert and thrilled to be our back up second in command during labor.

Meanwhile as I wait I am reading three Jane Austen novels. I finished Persuasion and am now on to Mansfield Park, with Northanger Abbey to follow.

Tomorrow I have a Non-stress Test where they monitor the baby for 20-60 minutes and make sure she's still doing a-ok. Then on Monday I have another doctor's appointment, which I am assuming will be where I schedule being induced. I'll keep you posted!

Still cookin'

One day to go to the D-day and no baby yet.  On Friday I went in for my normal doctor's appointment and found out I am dilated to a 2.  I have been having contractions but nothing regular yet.  I have probably walked 112093810382 miles over the past week (especially these last two days), and it seems to be helping make the contractions come more often. 

Last night my parentals took us to Skipolinis to eat their labor-inducing pizza called "Prego".  It was fun to go but I am still not feeling the regular, really painful contractions.  So hopefully washing the car and shopping at Costco will get me there.

Here are some pictures of the house. Our room is still not quite finished but I just love the bassinet by the bed. We still have little things to add but it is nice to get the big things done!

The last big thing left undone is to have this baby! I have been having some false labor stuff happen over the past few days, so hopefully I'm not hauling this basketball much longer!

So we're down to single digit days until the babe's due date. Today I had an appointment with the midwife and things are looking good. It seems that I am 25% effaced and the baby is at a -3. She is hanging out really low and seems to be ready to hatch.

I wish I could answer Veronica's question when she asked "Ok so how many days do they think it will be until she's here?" I guess I'll just keep feeling like a bomb and ticking away. Can't wait to meet this bundle of joy.

Day 4.

Life without going to work is pretty different. Over the past four days I have cleaned the bathrooms, swept all of the floors, vacuumed every room, made banana bread, organized the cleaning supplies, put together the baby swing, and made jam (with my mom's help).

Now it is Thursday and I am running out of things to clean and cook. I have resorted to doing my brother's laundry.

I am getting more and more anxious for the baby. I am also realizing that being at home (albeit I don't have the kid yet) is A LOT different than going to work. I am trying to find ways to keep me busy and I know that the baby will definitely help in that area. I just think that no matter what this is a different kind of work that is kind of tough.

I do like the feeling I get after I make my house look better or after I cook a good dinner for the boys, but it has been an adjustment.

I don't want to complain because I know we are lucky to be able to have me stay home . And I have a project in the works for a former boss that I can hopefully start next week and continue once the baby has made her debut.

So overall life is good, just different. I can't wait for the challenges and joys this baby will bring!

Phew.

The baby turned on her own! Yay!! We got to the doctor's office and the nurse put the ultrasound on my tummy and there was the cute little head down where it should be! We were both so happy and relieved!  We also were able to see a tuft of hair on her little noggin, her ear and we are now positive she is a lil' girl! Thank you for your thoughts and prayers! We couldn't be more excited and READY to meet this munchkin.
