My little miss

This week has been such a good one so far. The past few weeks we've had a few tantrums (maybe one a day), but this week Liv has been so sweet. Our friends are out of town...so I was so worried we would have a boring-stay-home week, but we have had fun just being best buds and spending some good one-on-one time together. I am realizing I need to take advantage of that now before I have a little newborn that will demand most of my attention.

The little miss talks a ton! Saying cute things like "Thank you" and "I like you!" and some not so sweet things like "Don't touch me!" and "Give it baaack!" She has also inherited my need to apologize for everything and says "I'm sorry" when she falls down, drops a toy, or trips. Lately she loves to play "baby" I swaddle her up like she's a newborn and rock her and talk to her about her baby brother that's coming in August. Yesterday I was cooking and she ran in with her blanket and walked me back to the rocking chair to hold her. She's such a mommy's girl. She loves to talk on her phone to "Papa", "Daddy", and "Wonka"(Auntie Veronica). She loves to swing on the swings and yells (not so politely) to "GO HIGH". She is my favorite little buddy and I'm so glad she's ours.

Easter Egg Hunt

This happened a while back but I wanted to post about our first and most exciting Easter egg hunt of the year! I wanted to come up with a fun way to tell my little brothers and sisters the gender of the baby...so about 5 minutes before they came barreling through the door from school I hid Easter eggs all having the note "Keep looking" except for one blue egg that said "It's a boy!"

My entire family I think wanted a boy, so when they found the egg they were so excited they practically tackled me.

I love being close to my family! They are always touching my belly in hopes of feeling a kick...which is hilarious and sometimes slightly annoying. But despite the excessive touching, I really do love having them around to laugh at my waddle.

Why don't we buy vanilla ice cream, so we can make snickers or Reeces milk shakes (blend together)?

Thank goodness I have a husband to manage our weekends of crazy shake making plans. Maybe tonight we'll throw in some strawberries... we're out of control.

A tradition in the making...

Lincoln's busy season ended on Friday. So...Saturday we packed up a lunch and a couple of our best friends and headed out to Muir Woods. It was a stinkin' blast to be able to spend the day together.
After we got home I realized that we went to Muir Woods after last year's April busy season! Looks like Muir Woods may be our end-of-busy season outing! Last year...

We're so happy to have Lincoln around more often! Livvy has missed him playing "dogs" with her and giving her "daddy kisses".

Beach Day

A little late in posting this, but we had a blast going to Pacifica with our friends a few weeks ago! We packed enough food for a week, enough sun screen for a year, and we were off! This is our camp...seriously we brought a TON of stuff. But it all paid off. The kidlets were troopers and had fun eating watermelon (coated in sand) and playing with shovels and buckets. Livvy loved to "go see the water". She is fearless! She would run straight towards it and then as soon as the wave hit and the water started getting close she'd yell "No water!"

Not only is Liv fearless of water...she also loves sand. She rolled in it and had no problem with it all over her face and in every other spot imaginable =).

The weather was perfect and the day could not have been better. Day trips and friends definitely make this whole busy-season thing a whole lot easier. Can't wait to go again!

FHE with an (almost) 2 year old

After feeling a little kick in the pants from General Conference this weekend, Livvy and I had a little family home evening.

We sang her favorite songs including If Your Happy and You know it! and I am a Child of God. Then we looked at pictures of Jesus and a family praying. She pointed a pictures and we talked about praying. She also is learning to say "Prophet!" so we closed our 5 minute lesson by singing Follow the Prophet. She really loved doing little following motions with me and kept wanting to sing it.

Even though it only lasted about 10 minutes, I'm so glad we did it! She really is soaking everything in. Just last night we read (looked at pictures) in her scriptures and we were talking about Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon. Lincoln and I kept trying to get her to say Book of Mormon, but she just stared at us.

Today she was playing in her room and she grabbed her scripture book and said very clearly "Book of Mormon!". I think sometimes even though she doesn't seem to be listening, she is. And seeing her learn the gospel, even in its most simplest form, is so sweet.

Little brother.

We found out today that we are having a BOY!! Holy cow were we SHOCKED! We've had a hard time imagining anything but another Livvy. We were both so happy to here the news! Luckily this little boy was not shy and the technician knew right away (and so did we). I loved seeing him move around and feeling it! Oh man I can't wait for all the boys loot I get to buy!

This is my favorite shot. His two little feet and a sweet little hand. I am in love already.

We have a few name ideas, but boys are always harder for us! Lincoln and I will wait to name the little baby boy until after we meet him, just like we did with Livs. This is partially due to us wanting to see and think about the name, but mostly because we never agree on any names so we ignore the decision until we can't!

Name fighting aside, we are both so happy and so excited for Livvy's little brother to join our family!
