Compromise.

Last night we tried a new pasta recipe. I hate white sauce and Lincoln's not a huge fan of red so we made this...

• 12 ounces dry fettuccine pasta
• 2 red bell peppers, julienned
• 3 cloves garlic, minced
• 3/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
• 1 cup reduced fat sour cream
• 3/4 cup chicken broth
• 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
• salt and pepper to taste

Cooking Instructions

1. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.
2. Meanwhile, spray cooking oil in a large skillet and saute red bell peppers, garlic and cayenne pepper over medium heat for 3 to 5 minutes.
3. Stir in sour cream and broth; simmer uncovered for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in cheese.
4. Toss hot pasta with sauce and season with salt and pepper to taste; serve.

We didn't end up going to Panda by the end of the night so it was a hit. Although next time I think we're going to avoid burning our mouths off and lighten up the cayenne pepper. It was quick and "light".

Chocolate covered happiness.

Lincoln has been back for a week! His plane didn't get in till 1:30 AM (supposed to come in at 9:30 AM) so I spent the majority of the night watching TV via my laptop and staring at the wall...that is until I had a genius idea. Chocolate covered strawberries. I hoped in the car at 9:30 on a Friday night and felt very conspicuous as I picked out strawberries. The dipping was fun. But I had way too much chocolate so I ended up dipping bananas and then searching the fridge for something to dunk in chocolate...carrots? uncooked pasta?
I considered doing something along those lines to make Lincoln laugh, but ended up just with extra chocolate. We had a great weekend. Since then it has been madness.

Rude Awakening.

We had a blast in California. Dallin came home and he is so awesome! I was surprised to see how little his personality has changed. It felt very natural to have him home. I forgot my camera but if I ever get pictures from Dillon I'll post his amazing candid shots of Cambodia.

After a week of swimming, watching "Funny Girl" and hanging out with the WHOLE family...I'm home and home alone. I think going from 11 people to only me is quite a drastic change. Lincoln is in D.C. for TWO WEEKS for work and so I remain here. This week has been insane. I forgot how much I hate school, but that seems to be the theme of my life lately. So moral of the story I'm alone and it's 10:24pm and I'm avoiding going to bed without my hubby. At least one more day to cross off until he's home right? Yup...I'm an optimist. Goodnight.

I wanna be like Dew.

Dewlin (my 10 year old brother) is here. He is doing a lacrosse sports camp at the Y and loves it. It has been really fun for us to have a third person around (now there's not only two people to choose for prayer). On Monday we went bowling and hung out on campus then had a sweet FHE...

and yesterday we went to Boondocks with the cousins. It was sa-weet.
We also went to the bank yesterday and the teller commented on my "unique" name then asked what Dew's name was. She asked if all of our siblings had "different types" of names and I said yeah...but I think we have the weirdest ones. I love the Dew Man. (Dew's here until Tuesday when we fly out to see Dallin!)Also, this is how Dewlin was watching a movie last night. Now you know why I want to be like him.

Two nights of cookie dough ice cream.

On Wednesday Lincoln found out he passed his financial exam! Whaaaawhooo! We celebrated by going to our favorite (Lincoln's favorite) restaurant, La Castia! Then I surprised him with cookie dough glorious ice cream.

NO MORE ECON. EVER AGAIN.
Tonight I finished my crap Econ 381 final. Lincoln suffered through Enchanted again with me and we ate more ice cream. I am going to milk this school-free weekend. I plan on sleeping a lot and hopefully eating more ice cream.

Lincoln takes his last CPA exam tomorrow. Oh the joy. I am so excited to have him back! He has been studying like a mad man. Proof? It's 8:48 pm on Friday and he's still studying. He has passed the past three exams (woot woot) and now we're down to the last. When I say we, I mean him because while he's been studying his guts out I've been watching the Lost season finale. btw WOW what the crap is going to happen?!?!. Anyway, we are excited to be done with the tests. I have convinced him to take a few weeks off studying before jumping into the next licensing test (CFP). Also, Adam (Lincoln's brother) and Lindsay had their twins last night! Actually Lindsay had them, but nonetheless we have two new nephews! They are very cute and make me ache. Also, I love Lincoln. The end.

Epidemic

Many of my friends have left me on missions. First there was Athens, then there was Jaimie and now Charli has left. I am so excited for them, but I miss them. I think it is easier to be the one leaving than the one being left. I love my friends and I know they won't read this, but I have so much respect for girls that serve missions! Sisters are awesome and I know that I am a small person to feel sad when they are going to bless so many others lives. I just thought writing my sadness would make me feel better. The end.
